About The Billy Bob Thornton Band and Private Radio
Private Radio As anyone who’s seen his movies knows, Thornton’s a natural storyteller with a seriously twisted Gothic streak. With Marty Stuart producing and Dwight Yoakam co-writing one song, Thornton travels all over the Southern musical map without ever getting within 20 miles of an interstate.
The cover of “Lost Highway,” then, is a natural, as are the two songs inspired by wife Angelina Jolie. Other songs celebrate the joys of smoking in bed or wearing a lover’s underwear. Worth hearing, if only for the way that Thornton can sound like a Dixie-fried Tom Waits on one song and, well, an actor making an album on another.
