Gretsch Booth - 1003
Yes, it was another hot time hanging on the corner in Nashville with Gretsch at booth 1003.
Folks from all over stopped by to say "hi" and check out all the Gretsch Products including:
Drums, Guitars and Gear.
Those interested in the finest drums on the planet were treated to
Custom Series,
Grand Prix Walnut, Jazz Blue Pearls and of course, the legendary 6 ply snares;
second-to-none in the business.
It was a real treat for those who appreciate hand workmanship using the best materials;
continuing in the Gretsch tradition since 1883. We happened to hear a great player lay down some beats
on a USA Maple kit with a satin blue oil finish. Hands down, it was the best sounding kit on the floor:
the kick was round and warm....tight(in the pocket) snare.....the toms were full and perfectly
balanced....The overall sound can best be described as "satisfying".
Guitar dealers and players also had their share of beauties to feast on, including: Falcons, Tennessee Roses
Jets, 6120's and Artist models, just to mention a few. Duane Eddy stopped by to check on his namesake
and sample some new guitars. The Anniversary Junior 6118 was a little guy that got particular attention. It stands
out; sporting a smoke green finish and pearl inlay headstock, all fashioned from the 50's. The Big Acoustic Rancher
was also a real eye catcher. With its distinctive triangle sound hole and western style, this favorite is
known for a big sound. Those interested in cool solid bodies were more than happy to "paw" one of the
many Jets. The single cut-away Champagne Sparkle Jet was however, the visitors choice.
New to the booth, were samples from the much anticipated Gretsch Store.
Shirts, Hats, coffee cups, and catalogs
were on display for the Gretsch enthusiast. For the first time, Gretsch fans can now purchase apparel and
accessories on-line. The embroidered denim drum shirt was one of the store items in particular that caught
quite a few looks....comfy! Look for new merchandise as the store builds.
All in all it was another strong showing for the good people at Gretsch.
This coming year, Gretsch will
celebrate a 120 year milestone! From its early beginnings as a modest shop in Brooklyn, Fred Gretsch and
Company have continued to manufacture some of the finest instruments known. With that tradition, Gretsch enjoys
the legacy of not only "That Great Gretsch Sound" but also curved out its own slice of "Americana".
Go Gretsch!
